seaside nights and the maginhawa-UP food trip

We've been hearing some good things about the Maginhawa food strip so we decided to try out a few haunts last Saturday before the typhoon blew in -- had lunch at Cocina Juan near Ministop, then dessert at I Heart Froyo (whose owners were two UP law students who were batchmates of Journ friends - hello there, small world!).

(Note: I stole all these photos from Andrea, whose accounts of this weekend are right here and here on her LJ. YEHEY ATTRIBUTION WIN. Anyway...)

I heart their quirky water bombs!

Then, she bought this horse balloon, and we proceeded to take a lot of pictures with it.

We met up with Julie at ROC in Bahay ng Alumni, which quite frankly was AWESOME. We ate a lot, end of story. Heh. Julie gave as turones de mani YAY.

Thank you Universe for ROC's fantastic selections NOMNOM

Then we bought isaw for takeout and headed home before the downpour. Lately, we've been very lucky about guessing just when to go home so that we arrive in Casa right before it starts raining. It's like we have ESPN or something. (That, or my boobs can tell when it's about to rain. Hindi na masama yun haha).

Dinner that night: Rice and isawwww yesssss.

Sunday we went to Bonifacio High Street to check out newly opened Muji. It was awesome, despite the thick crowd. Andrea bought us some nifty notebooks! They turned out to be rather cheap that after holding back on round 1, she had to go back in for round 2 lol. I sat the second one out and waited for her at the Starbucks across the road in Fully Booked. Hehe sneaky.

A postscript: On Friday night we were already sitting quietly at home when a friend called us up and asked if we wanted to go to Intramuros. At 11 in the evening. WTH. Of course we said yes (HAHA). Apparently, we were escorting another friend who was to attend a wedding in a hotel there the following day. Whee.
Age range 18-24... mga several years ago. Haha.
After Intramuros, we proceeded to an area right beside CCP and right beside the sea. The sea at night is frightening. We had coffee until about 3 in the morning, or whatever -- we usually really lose track of time when we're together, like we're a bunch of nineteen-year-olds haha. Fun times.

Ngl this shot is amazing. =)

All in all, a good weekend of good food with good friends. And now, I'm just going to put this out here:

Saw this on Yague. Shame on you. Haha.
