Warning: Crazy day ahead featuring some swimming (srsly, in the middle of Baguio weather), a trip to the museum, a book shop in the clouds and fire dancing. Hence -- a shit ton of photos. Anyway, I'm using photos taken via GalaxyTab using the free Vignette app -- me likey! (You've probably seen these photos on Twitter -- pardon my newfound way of taking notes while on the go, heh.)

Sunshine on the veranda. Good morning! |
Apparently, they weren't joking when they said we were going swimming, and soon I found us in
Riverview Water Park along Asin Road -- this steep stretch of road just off Naguilian and after PureGold. (We noted with glee that the kids of Asin Road played on the streets with their rubber balls tied around their waists -- seriously! Nga naman, practical lang, ang layo ng gugulungan ng bola mo eh! Or maybe we were just lucky to see someone with that sort of sense of humor haha.)
Entrance was at P100/head for the use of all the pools (I think there were three big ones, two of them with slides and three kiddie pools -- the place was huge) and a cottage where we ate our lunch (mmm chicharooon). We were only in the water briefly (Andrea has some in-the-water photos in
her entry about that part of the day here!) -- the crowd turned us off, and we had the gross misfortune of going on a day where everyone vacationing in Baguio was also there. But yeah, I always enjoy swimming and the food we brought with us was great. And yeah, Drea almost got her slippers stolen. SERIOUSLY, HER SLIPPERS. HAHAHA. But yeah, she managed to retrieve it -- from a high school boy who nearly got away with it. The nerve.
Also on Asin Road: The BenCab museum.

Faces at the lobby |
Entrance was at P100/head. A guide patiently led us through the wings. The museum was massive and showcased artworks from local artists. It had an entire wing devoted to Cordillera art -- it was AMAZING.

Obviously, I am not one of those inviduals haha. This work by Julie Lluch. |
Also oh my God, how many museums have fantastic gardens?

And in the spirit of even more fantastic things to see in Baguio, here we have: Mt Cloud Bookshop on Session Road, right beside Hill Station:

We signed their guestbook. Sorry, I think we got too eager. <3 |
Dinner was at Cafe by the Ruins, which incidentally was celebrating its anniversary week. That night featured firedancers. Nifty! Had bagnet for the first time -- mmm it was sinful and glorious and magnificent. (ALSO! Bumped into
Ken at the firedancing event -- no he wasn't one of the firedancers haha he was in Baguio for a running event! Cheers to serendipity, Ken!)
