The Great North Luzon Adventure, part 3

Under cut: trekking, secret gardens, bliss, hot chocolate, etc. Photos via my GalaxyTab.

Houses are gorgeous in the sun. Good morning!

Andrea with her zips. Also, this is an illustration of the steep flights of stairs we had to negotiate with daily during our stay. Haha. Exercise!
Itinerary for that day: A trek at the Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary, lunch at Bliss Cafe, a brief tour of Camp John Hay and dinner at Hill Station before sending Andrea's brother Emil and his girlfriend Ayn back to Manila via Victory Bus that night.

Also on this day: SUPER MOON.
First stop: Maryknoll.
Oh, a garden!

It was a looooong trek that was actually an illustration of, uh, the Earth's history.Yep, it covers as far back as the beginnings of the universe. No, seriously:
"The universe came into being 137 billion years ago"
O di ba, comprehensive.
Also there: Hanging bridges, caves, secret gardens.
How's it hangin'?
Caving! LOL
Behaved
A quiet house in the middle of the forest.

Lunch was at Bliss Cafe in Hotel Elizabeth. Cafe serves vegetarian dishes -- one of the most impressive I've ever had the pleasure of eating in Baguio.
A cafe named Bliss.
Interiors, plus me. Haha.
Found it indeed! :)
Outside, we spied very colorful gazebos on the hills around.
Up on the hill.
We were craving some hot choco so we also dropped by Chocolate de Batirol in Camp John Hay:
Had some orange-infused hot chocolate. Nomnomnom fantastic in this weather.
Dinner at Hill Station involved paella and liempo and salad. It was so awesome all I had by way of documentation is this very hurriedly taken shot of these dishes prior to obliteration haha.
Crappy photo is crappy haha but you know what they say -- pics or it didn't happen!
Drove Emil and Ayn to the bus station before heading home. Psyched ourselves up for a big day ahead.

UP NEXT: Sagada!

n.b. Andrea's account of this day, plus photos from the other camera can be found on her Livejournal entry here. :)

  1. Great North Luzon Adventure, indeed! And hindi pa pala tapos. Akala ko hanggang Part 3 lang. :P
Awesome pictures! Favorite ko so far 'yung "A quiet house in the middle of the forest." Medyo creepy, so astig! :)
I've been to Baguio before, but somehow I never went to any of the places you went to. Except for the BenCab Museum. Then again, we were only there for 2 days, which means, I MUST GO BACK.
